About Nurse Practitioners and Naturopathic Doctors

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice registered nurses with graduate-level education and advanced clinical training. NPs diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications and provide comprehensive primary care. Their approach combines evidence-based medical care with a strong emphasis on prevention, health education and the overall well-being of each patient.

Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are licensed providers who complete four-year, accredited naturopathic medical programs and are trained to diagnose, prevent and treat acute and chronic conditions. Their approach emphasizes whole-person care, prevention, nutrition and lifestyle while integrating conventional diagnostic testing and medications with complementary therapies when appropriate. In Washington State, licensed NDs can serve as primary care providers, order diagnostic testing and prescribe medications within their state-defined scope of practice.

At Schine Health, comprehensive primary care is personal. We take the time to listen, understand your needs, and provide thoughtful, evidence-based care built around you — not just your diagnosis.
